Pour ce faire, 3 carottes s\u00e9dimentaires pr\u00e9lev\u00e9es en 2021 et 2022 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 analys\u00e9es, compl\u00e9tant ainsi une strat\u00e9gie d\u2019\u00e9chantillonnage initi\u00e9e en 2012. Les niveaux de contamination dans le Rh\u00f4ne en amont de Lyon sont relativement faibles en comparaison des autres enregistrements. En revanche, les deux autres archives s\u00e9dimentaires permettent d\u2019identifier des phases successives de contamination depuis les ann\u00e9es 1960. Ces phases de contamination co\u00efncident, en termes de temporalit\u00e9 et de composition, avec le cort\u00e8ge de PFAS associ\u00e9 \u00e0 des activit\u00e9s industrielles sp\u00e9cifiques dans le bassin de la Sa\u00f4ne et plus particuli\u00e8rement au sud de la m\u00e9tropole lyonnaise. La signature de ces sources a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9serv\u00e9e dans les s\u00e9diments permettant de caract\u00e9riser leurs emprises spatiales et temporelles. Face \u00e0 ce constat, le projet CONTASAONE vise \u00e0 mettre en \u0153uvre un r\u00e9seau d\u2019\u00e9chantillonnage int\u00e9gratif d\u2019eau et de mati\u00e8res en suspension (MES) \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle de la Sa\u00f4ne et de ses principaux affluents. La premi\u00e8re phase du projet a consist\u00e9 \u00e0 faire le bilan des donn\u00e9es existantes (suivi r\u00e9glementaire accessible sous Na\u00efades) de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 identifier des sites d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eats pour mettre en place un r\u00e9seau d\u2019\u00e9chantillonnage int\u00e9gratif des contaminants. Ainsi, 1,11 millions de donn\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 extraites et analys\u00e9es, couvrant 1529 substances recherch\u00e9es sur 37 stations. Les r\u00e9sultats ont mis en \u00e9vidence des lacunes dans la caract\u00e9risation des dynamiques et des niveaux de contamination li\u00e9es au caract\u00e8re ponctuel de l\u2019\u00e9chantillonnage et \u00e0 l\u2019insuffisance de prise en compte de la phase particulaire. Toutefois, cette approche met en \u00e9vidence une contamination marqu\u00e9e par les \u00e9l\u00e9ments traces m\u00e9talliques (ETM) et par les hydrocarbures aromatiques polycycliques (HAP) dans la Thalie et l\u2019Azergues principalement li\u00e9e \u00e0 des rejets urbains et industriels tandis que l\u2019Ouche, l\u2019Ognon et la Dheune pr\u00e9sentent des teneurs en pesticides majoritairement li\u00e9es \u00e0 des activit\u00e9s agricoles. Elles t\u00e9moignent de p\u00e9riodes d&rsquo;enregistrement couvrant plus de 80 ans avec une s\u00e9dimentation relativement continue et homog\u00e8ne. Les mod\u00e8les d&rsquo;\u00e2ge ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tablis \u00e0 partir des profils en radionucl\u00e9ides (137Cs et 210Pb), permettant de d\u00e9finir des taux de s\u00e9dimentation (1 \u00e0 2 cm.an-1) et d\u2019\u00e9tudier les tendances des contaminants \u00e0 haute r\u00e9solution temporelle. Ces analyses r\u00e9v\u00e8lent des phases de contamination distinctes en lien avec l\u2019histoire industrielle du bassin. D\u2019apr\u00e8s la chronologie couverte par ces archives s\u00e9dimentaires, des contaminations en cuivre, plomb et cadmium sont identifi\u00e9es d\u00e8s les ann\u00e9es 1950, avec des maximas jusque dans les ann\u00e9es 1970. Plus tardivement, alors que les niveaux de contamination des pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents m\u00e9taux amorcent une am\u00e9lioration, l\u2019argent atteint des concentrations maximales, en deux temps, d\u2019abord entre les ann\u00e9es 1970-1980, puis dans les ann\u00e9es 1990. Dans le contexte industriel du bassin, cette contamination en argent peut \u00eatre reli\u00e9e aux industries de la photographie. Ces r\u00e9sultats montrent que les bras secondaires de la Sa\u00f4ne peuvent \u00eatre affect\u00e9s par des contaminations multi-m\u00e9talliques accumul\u00e9es depuis les ann\u00e9es 1950. Ils jouent ainsi un r\u00f4le d\u2019archives des pollutions, permettant de reconstituer les impacts des activit\u00e9s anthropiques sur les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes fluviaux.
